Indie film distribution

Indie Film Distribution

By: Demetrius Feaster

I have been living and practicing my craft of filmmaking full-time going on five years now. For the most part my company has had a primary focus of shooting for other people. Creating the look for the client initially was the forte. By year three I have progressed into creating original content. Primarily all content was created for the intentional distribution on television networks. We shaped and formed the way we started our company to adhere to development of content for television. Now in our fourth year we have added cinema to the list of our intellectual property portfolio. We have a new concern now that we have begun creating content created for TV and theatrical release. We are now at the point of distribution. Our focus is where we’re going to put our resources, whether it is time and effort or financial means. While scouring the Internet looking for possibilities for my company to distribute cinematic content, I stumbled across what I felt was a Jewel. “The Directory of International Sales Agents.” This directory was written and compiled by resources and writers from the country of Australia. It is an international perspective of agents from around the world. This is an extensive resource that houses agents in America France, England, New Zealand, anyplace that you can imagine where there is a demand for movies. Upon further investigation of this directory it also help to list the criteria for submission to each of these agents. It gives you the typical budgets that the sales agents purchase their properties for. I would most certainly recommend any consummate filmmakers that professionally releases their content, too subscribe to this “website” and it’s newsletters. Australia has made it easy for its filmmakers to do business with the rest of the world. It is also a technical way to attract location scouts for filmmakers in the future by showing them whom to connect with internationally.

Hydro-rig Monitoring

The future seems so now….

Sci-fi interfaces

As a part of their morning routine, Jack makes the rounds in his Bubbleship to provide a visual confirmation that the hydro-rigs are operating properly. In order to send the hydro-rig coordinates to the Bubbleship, Vika:

  1. Holds with two fingers on the hydro-rig symbol on the left-hand side panel of the TETVision feed
  2. A summary of coordinates is displayed around the touchpoint (hydro-rig symbol)
  3. Drags the data up to the Bubbleship symbol on the side panel

Inconsistent interactions

When Vika sends the drone coordinates, she interacts directly with the map and uses only one finger. Why is the interaction for sending hydro-rig coordinates different than the interaction for sending drone coordinates?

Perhaps Vika uses a different interaction here because she is sending the coordinates for all three rigs at the same time. However, since the three rigs are all in the same general location, that doesn’t really seem…

Prometheus (2012) – IMDb.

Prometheus is set in the future during a time when humans have mastered deep space travel. The movie stars Noomi RapaceLogan Marshall-GreenMichael Fassbender and Idris Elba as a group of explorers traveling to another planet to possibly terraform. They have a elaborate map to the location of the mystery planet. The movie starts a briefing and a dramatic landing sequence. This movie is Director Ridley Scott’s vision of what some would say in a conspiracy movie dealing with the concept of the origin of human. This is a definite requirement for sci fi buff, because plenty of the technical influences are there. I would recommend this movie a more mature audience and give it a 4 out of 5.

makeover final – YouTube

For this category a work in progress I have picked up a project that I’ve been working on with the client for sometime now. This is a reality base extreme makeover for under a strict budget show.  We worked to get the pilot to a point where we are all are happy. So now we have began to work to raise money. We have taken this project to several production companies for further aid with producing this project.

The Pursuit of Happyness, is a film about a father and son duo poised against some of the most toughest problem facing families today. This is a story that is based on a true story and is a release that is produced by Will Smith’s production Overbook Entertainment. The movie is a great family film and is at moments a real tearjerker. The movie junky viewing this moving will get he or she’s dose of great cinematoghpy and story. This gets a 4 ½ out 5 for its inspirational message.
